Tortuous or Torturous?

Tortuous: winding or crooked; to twist, to wind, or to wrench.
Example: “a tortuous path” or “a tortuous river”

Torturous: painfully unpleasant.

It is torturous to ride the tumultuous and tortuous river.

Being unemployed can be torturous and tumultuous but usually not tortuous.
